Privacy policy
Onward is a running training plan for iPhone and Apple Watch. It is built so that your data stays yours.
What Onward collects
Nothing. Onward has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs. The developer receives no data from the app, and none is used for advertising or shared with anyone.
What Onward stores, and where
- Your plan and run history (sessions completed, effort ratings, distances, paces) are stored on your devices and, if iCloud is enabled, synced through your private iCloud database. That database belongs to your Apple ID; the developer cannot read it.
- Health data. With your permission, Onward reads recent workouts, resting heart rate and VO₂ max to suggest a starting point, reads heart rate during a run, and saves finished runs to Apple Health. Health data is handled under Apple's HealthKit rules, never leaves your devices, and is never used for advertising.
- Location is used only during a run, to measure distance and pace. Routes are not stored and location never leaves your device.
Your choices
Health and location access are optional and can be revoked at any time in Settings; the app keeps working with a timer alone. Deleting the app removes its data from the device; data saved to Apple Health remains in Health under your control, and iCloud data can be removed in iCloud settings.
